Abundance and Endurance ---- Protect Indie Dream

I have been away from this blog for over three months, now I just feel like coming home from a journey with an abundance mentality, which sounds weird and isn’t linked with my game development directly, but that’s an indispensable part of any creative life.

If you have a minute, I’d like to invite you to read ‘’My Journey to Relaxation”, in which I jot down some of my daily relaxation techniques discovered during the past few months. I hope you find it helpful if you are also a person stuck in the busy working schedule and seeking for balanced life style. Overwhelming tasks or inappropriate time schedule could only push us to physical exhaustion which makes us end up mentally fatigued as well.

You might also want to have a quick look at my artwork ( Link1  Link2  Link3  Link4 ) created on Android phone with Autodesk Sketchbook Pro. Most likely, I will try to make my game art on Android phone from now on, which is also compatible with other software. At least you don’t need to sit in front of the computer like a Zen Monk.     ·

Besides, an interesting finding that I want to share here is about “working method” ---- “The Interleaving Effect: Mixing It Up Boosts Learning” (from Scientific American), I came across this article about one month ago and I think that point of view is quite amusing. By mixing different tasks together, like mixing salad, our work can actually stimulate our brain (hippocampus) before the brain gets bored with each single task. My take on this issue is that ‘’interleaving’’ can help us become ‘’smart worker’’, not just ‘’hard worker’’. This method is worth working into our routine to see how it might keep our brain fresh, despite lacking its dominant role across mainstream settings.

Finally, I’d like to talk about my little game project.

I want to express my thankfulness to the readers. During the past few months, I received some emails from various people showing their interest in working for this project. Although I didn’t reply to them one by one, I’m actually VERY GRATEFUL. They also said ‘’hello’’ to ‘’the rest of my team’’, however, there is no such a thing called ‘’the rest of the team’’. As I said at the very beginning, I am the one-man-army team member behind this project.

It’s a pity that so far I have no extra budget to assemble a team for this game project. Being a start-up entrepreneur, I’m currently on the rocky road. To pave the way for the future growth, I have been working on a new diversified strategy for my small company these months, yet it takes time for the positive future growth to emerge.

I’m still working on this game, bad news is things might have to slow down; and good news is, there is a word called ‘’endurance’’ in mankind’s dictionary, which has always been an amazing power to help us protect our dream.

Thank you for all your interest, kindness and even support! You all have my gratitude.

Stay positive & See you soon!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!

Due to the health issue of my eyes, I have to slow down (reducing the amount of time staring at the screens) the development of my game project.
